. There are very few Vietnamese students are studying at KDU College. The College is near my home so I have a chance to get to know some of the students there.

Vietnamese students are taking Computer and Hotel Management Courses. one of their course is required an actual service that they have to team up to set the table, deco the hall, cook and make the beverage. The other night the decorated the Hall following Rock N Roll Style.

When the Music started, Jonathan followed and he danced non-stop that made all the guests laugh and laugh.

. This year, Turf Club organized a horse show during school break. I was invited to display a booth there. There are many visitors from all over Malaysia to the horse show.

I myself could not see any horse show because we had to be at the store. One day Eric brought Jonathan to see the horse. He really scared when he saw them.

beside the horse show, there were many other activities like magic show, music band, games...Me and Jonathan took a pictures with the clown team. Jonathan did not want and kept saying "I dont want".

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF MOTHER AND SON

Time flies, Jonathan has turned to 2 and his mum has turned to 35.:)!.

This year we celebrated our Birthday together. Jonathan's birth is 10 days after mine. The day of my Birthday Eric was away so I decided to wait for him to come back.

However, my office had a night our for dinner at the very nice place in the heart of Town name New World Park. I always like this place because it has a wide space for Jonathan to run around and the food is not bad. Penang people call it "Cheap & Good" ;).

Exactly on my birthday, my very lovely sister brought me a Birthday cake. She surprised me and made my day. The cake was nice so we immediately cut it into pieces and ate and talked and laugh. It had lots of fun. I will post the pictures later.

We had a real Birthday celebration on 16 May 2009 at Eden Restaurant. It was cool. Food were nice. I ordered a beefsteak which is my favorite. Jonathan did not eat anything. Eric also could not enjoy because he was too tired after coming back from a long trip to the US.

Akong and Ama bought a nice birthday cake for Jonathan. After meal we cut the cake and sang the traditional song "HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2U" then I hold Jonathan's hand. There is not many nice pictures were captured because Jonathan moved to much.

Other Birthday gifts are all cash.

Thank you so much to Akong, Ama, Kor Kor, auntie Binh for making our Birthday so special. :).

Tối thứ 7 hôm qua 9/5/2009 tại HT EPCC con phải trả lời phỏng vấn khi HT tổ chức ngày Lễ Mẫu Thân cho các bà mẹ. Câu hỏi dành cho con là "Chị có cảm xúc gì khi nhận được một món quà dành cho những bà mẹ?". Con trả lời rằng "Có bé Jonathan đứng cạnh chị đây xác định một cách chắc chắn rằng chị đã làm mẹ :). Cảm xúc đầu tiên không thể nào quên được đó là lần đầu giặt tã cho Jonathan, nước mắt rơi trên gò má nhớ lại những tháng ngày vất vả mẹ đã từng nuôi 6 anh chị em trong thiếu thốn và vất vả. Lúc đó thương mình có một mình vì mẹ và em gái đã về lại Việt Nam. Thương mẹ vì sự hy sinh cả cuộc đời cho con cái. Giờ đây chị đã là người mẹ trẻ của bé trai hai tuổi. Người ta nói rằng hai tuổi là "double 2". Sự thách thức đang còn phía trước. Chị đã làm lễ dâng con khi bé Jonathan tròn 6 tháng để xin Chúa bồng ẫm và nuôi dưỡng cháu được lớn lên trong sự khôn ngoan và kính sợ Chúa. Với chị, luôn cầu xin Chúa cho mình sự khôn ngoan và cuộc sống gương mẫu, phải cứng rắn trong những trường hợp cần thiết. Yêu con nhưng không chiều con...Mong con lớn lên trong sự khỏe mạnh, kính sợ Chúa và đẹp lòng người ta".

Con cũng nhớ rất nhiều đến mẹ Nhung người đã nuôi dạy con suốt mười mấy năm trời . Sự khắc khe của mẹ đã uốn nắn tính cách của con ngày hôm nay. Từ khi mẹ qua đời con đã không biết bao nhiêu lần ao ước giá như mẹ vẫn còn, mẹ được nhìn thấy cháu Jonathan chắc mẹ vui lắm.

Nhân ngày lễ mẫu thân, con kính chúc mẹ được bình an, sức khỏe. Cháu Jonathan gửi tặng đến bà và các dì một bó hoa thật to. Cháu yêu bà nhiều.

The history of Mother's Day is centuries old and goes back to the times of ancient Greeks, who held festivities to honor Rhea, the mother of the gods. The early Christians celebrated the Mother's festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent to honor Mary, the mother of Christ.

Interestingly, later on a religious order stretched the holiday to include all mothers, and named it as the Mothering Sunday. The English colonists settled in America discontinued the tradition of Mothering Sunday because of lack of time. In 1872 Julia Ward Howe organized a day for mothers dedicated to peace. It is a landmark in the history of Mother's Day.

In 1907, Anna M. Jarvis (1864-1948), a Philadelphia schoolteacher, began a movement to set up a national Mother's Day in honor of her mother, Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis. She solicited the help of hundreds of legislators and prominent businessmen to create a special day to honor mothers.

The first Mother's Day observance was a church service honoring Anna's mother. Anna handed out her mother's favorite flowers, the white incarnations, on the occasion as they represent sweetness, purity, and patience. Anna's hard work finally paid off in the year 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as a national holiday in honor of mothers.

Slowly and gradually the Mother's day became very popular and gift giving activity increased. All this commercialization of the Mother's day infuriated Anna as she believed that the day's sentiment was being sacrificed at the expense of greed and profit.

Regardless of Jarvis's worries, Mother's Day has flourished in the United States. Actually, the second Sunday of May has become the most popular day of the year. Although Anna may not be with us but the Mother's day lives on and has spread to various countries of the world. Many countries throughout the world celebrate Mother's Day at various times during the year, but some such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium also celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May.

Thời gian trôi nhanh quá. Thế là con đã làm dâu nơi sứ người hơn 5 năm rồi. Thời gian tưởng dài nhưng cũng chỉ có thế thôi. 5 năm qua con chưa làm gì được nhiều cho bản thân và cho gia đình. Với con, sinh được cậu cún cho ông bà là thành quả lớn nhất trong suốt năm tháng qua.

Jonathan mấy ngày nữa là tròn 2 năm rồi. Bé đang tập nói thật dễ thương. Chuyện sinh nở của người phụ nữ được ví như cơn vượt cạn nhưng Chúa đã cho mẹ tròn con vuông. Giờ đây trách nhiệm làm mẹ còn khó và thách thức hơn nhiều. Con sẽ nghiêm khắc trong việc nuôi dạy. Con ao ước mang đến cho Jonathan những điều tốt đẹp nhất.

Từ khi sinh cháu cho đến giờ con chưa đưa cháu về thăm ông bà. Lòng con luôn nhớ về quê nhà nơi con sinh ra có tuổi thơ làm giàu cho cuộc sống hiện tại. Con nhớ từng con đường dẫn sang nhà ông bà ngoại, cánh đồng xoải cánh cò bay, những chiều đông chăn trâu cùng bè bạn, kể cả những lúc đói khổ...tất cả vẫn ở trong lòng con.

Con đã đặt vé máy bay. Ông bà sẽ sớm nhìn thấy cháu thôi. Con mong từng ngày được về nhà. Con thương bố mẹ lắm.

ERIC IS IN THE US FOR 3 WEEKS

Eric left for Atlanta nearly 2 weeks ago for an international conferrence there. I is travelling to few other places to visit his friends and share with Churches about the work in Penang. He will call Anh Tuan Le who I love very much.

I had a long conversation with Anh Tuan and chi YLan on the phone few days ago. Knowing that they are planning to go to Ho Chi Minh end of May for a big performance. They asked me to go with them but I am not able to join, even though I want it very much in my heart.

I am staying home alone with Jonathan quite tiring. There was one night Jonathan woke up and cried in the middle of the night. He cried a lot for a half an hour. I had to get up and prepare meal for him. The he was ok. We fell into sleep gain until the next morning.

I was in hawaìi for a month in January 2009 for a course on leadership training. There I had a chance to study with other ladies from all over the World. They are holding a different position in Society but all of them have a great desire to share the Gosple to the unreached People.

I learned from them and was inspired by their motivation. I have been applying the topic of "Discipline and SMART Goals Setting" since then. I am going to translate the materials and re-educate the workers here in my area.

JAZZ FESTIVAL IN PENANG ISLAND

Last week, a Jazz Festival was organized in Penang. The Jazz Team lead by Musician Tran Manh Tuan together with Tuan Hung and their team members landed in Pnang for 3 days performace. The Festival drew attention from a such crowded people, especially the expatriate community in Penang.

Ngoc Lan singer sang a folk song "Yeu nhau coi ao cho nhau" which was impressed the audience.

After the performance I had a chance to meet Tran Manh Tuan who I admire for long time since I still was in Hanoi. I bought a CD from him and, of course, I managed to get his signature,

I also met Tuan Hung who is famous for the MC on Television in Vietnam and had long chat with him. Hung expressed that the trip to Penang was short for them but very special. He wishes to return here again for another Performance.

Hung once time was interviewed by the Television about his musical career few months ago. Many people were touch, expired and encouraged by him because he took the chance during interviewing to share the Gospel. He came to the Lord 2 years ago but he has contributed a great work for the Kingdom. He has produced a CD with all lyrics composing by himself regarding the Gospel theme.

1 DON'T SLEEP WITH WATCH

Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if youneed to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.

4 DON'T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP
People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run. Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go into deep sleep.

Trip to the beach again

Recently I have a very little time to update our family and ministry to the blog. There is not much new news except everybody get busier and busier. Jonathan is getting bigger now. he is practicing how to talk. He repeats my word like a parrot. Very cute!

For the momment the Indonesian maid takes care of him in the afternoon so that I can work peacfully. Having a maid in Malaysia is extremely expensive. If hourly maid it costs RM10 per hour. If monthly it costs about RM700 per month, excluding the upfrontRM8000 paid to the agent to apply a maid. Anyway, by God's grace we manage to have a partime maid.

The maid speaks Bahasa so jonathan influences by her. Some time he asks me apa apa that mean what is it? It is fun sometimes. :)

Althougt life is busy all the time, we try our best to spend time with some friends during wêekends. We have a very nice friends around. It is a blessing when we live far from our faimily.

Jonathan sees his papa off at the Penang airport. He also likes pushing things around if has any.

Do you know why I laugh like this? When we took Jonathan down to the sea and let him plays with sea-water. Suddenly, there was a young boy run to thuong to whisper to her ear that "I love you". When he left, we all laughed like anything. It was fun.

Jonathan was playing with auntie Thuong who is studying at KDU college. Jonathan loves to play with this panda. That day we had a steamboat at one of Korean Restaurant. You just oay RM25 then you can eat whatever you want and like. There are many types of food, from seafood to the husbadary, vegetables, ice-scream...

This is Duc. Duc is also a student at a KUU College that nears our house. Today he is in a very gorgeous suit because he helps me to interprete for a muder case at High Court in Penang. Normally, I attend this kind of Court Case if Eric needs me for the interpretation. Today I am not feeling well so I have Duc to replace me. I tease him a bridegroom today:).

There are many murder cases in Penang area that envolve with the Vietnamese workers. Eric takes those cases also because of the Vietnamese people. He has a great heart for the Vietnamese.

This is Eirc's gown when he appears at High Court. He look s so fat in this gown. I cant see his neck. hehehe.

This is a simple but very meaningful Birthday Party for the workers who has birthday in July, Aug and Sept 2008. Every quarter we have this celebration for them. Many of them have never had such Birthday Clebration when they were in Vietnam.

NEW CAR

Very early this year we had a special prayer meeting at Church. One of my prayer was a car granted from God. Thank God, he has answered my prayer. I am slowly considering buying a car for myself. Eric and Papa in-law ask me to buy secondhand first as my driving skill is very amateur.

But, as usual I am stubborn. I prefer a new small car that suit my size and taste. I am considering a VIVA car of local production PEREDOA Branch.

NEW SHOES FOR JONATHAN

This morning we went to super market to buy a new pair of shoes for Jonathan and of course some for my own, hummm.

Jonathan loves his new shoes. When we reached home, I took off his shoes, put on his new shoes. I asked him to keep his old shoes. I was surprised that he knows how to keep his shoes. He took his shoes to the same place and put there. He remember where I keep his ball, his toys.

Very interesting and surprisingly, I learn new thing that my little son know a lot of thing. He imitate everything my single action in daily life. The book that I am reading help me a lot in near future.

One of the contents are Why reality will work in your home, How to act when they act up, winning ways...The book states that we do not need a community, a village to raise your child. We also do not need the church to raise your child. We need parents to raise their own child.

VERTIGO

For last 1o days I had a vertigo. I was taking care of Jonathan, suddenly thing spinning around me. I tried to stand up, same problem.

In the evening, I suffered the same situation. Next morning, it was worse. I could not get up. Eric had help me. He hold me and help me to stand up. Thanks God, I could stand up finally.

Eric took me to the hospital. Dr Sathindren put me in to few tests such as CT scan, Blood test, Urine test, ECG (brain wave). All were done. NOTHING serious in my mind. Dr Sathindren diagnosis my problem is chemical imbalance. Some virus affected my ear that cause this vertigo problem.

Due to this health issue I had cancel my trip to Hawaii. Eric helped me to write a letter to the director of Haggai Institute. They were very understanding and have rescheduled me to the January 2009 course. For that, I wont be able to go also because we have planed to go back to Vietnam.

This is the 3rd time I have canceled my trip to the US. I am sure, God will give me another chance.

I thank the Lord for his blessing abundantly. I have a very nice parents in law. They are very understanding, supportive, caring for my life during my stay with them.

Jonathan is growing up healthy. Eric's job is stable and has whole hearted to the Vietnamese.

The next big blessing is my trip to the US. I have ticket in hand. I will departure on the 27th Sept and back on the 25th Oct 2008. I am excited about it. This trip is for training for the leaders who are working with the developing countries.

The other day we took him to a toy shop. when we reached the shopping center, he was very playful. he just wanted to sit down to play with the fender like a slider. he did not go at all. I had a very hard time to control him. Until I was tired, I also sit down with him.

It was very surprised to know that Jonathan likes drawing. I first discovered at Church service on Sunday night on 31st Aug 2008. He borrowed pen from one of Church member then started to draw. But I can not understand his drawing :).

I and Eric took him to the shopping complex to buy a small white board for him to play. Now, he is playing with the white board day and night. you can see it.

Last week we were honored to welcome EE Team from VN. They were here for 10 days. They had a very tight schedule with the training. However, God granted them a very blessing students for 2 training sessions in Butterworth and Batu Muang. Time was over, trainers did not want to say goodbye to their students.

This is auntie Ai Ming's family

In the past week our family faced a very sad new. The new was about auntie Ai Ming. She has three children, 2 sons and one daughter.

Ai Ming is a very committed Christian. Her funeral was conducted at her Agape Church in Subang on Monday. Church members remember her as wife...a mother...a daughter...a sister...an aunt...a sister in the Lord and a good friend.

Ai Ming was discovered with a lump in her breast 6 years ago when her youngest son was 6 months. By her faith in Christ, God gave her strength and energy to live like a normal person until now.

Travel to the Mountain by the cable car

We had a very adventure feeling when we traveled to the 700 meters above the sea mountain by cable car. When the cable car reached its station it shook strongly that scared me. Once again, Jonathan did not scared at all. He enjoyed himself very much. People said that he is very brave young man!.

This is the peak of the mountain. Here, the air is so cool and fresh. We directed our eyes toward the horizontal to admire what the Lord has created.

A Trip to Langkawi - A very first discovery for Jonathan

This is the place where we had breakfast during stay in Bella Vista Hotel

Last week we went to Langkawi Island. This is the very first trip in Jonathan's life. Few days before the trip we thought that Jonathan will scares when the plane takes off. Ama said that Jonathan will be very excited. Let's guess he is excited or he scares when the plane takes off?

Early in the morning on 1st July 2008 we rushed to the airport on Akong's car. We said good bye to Akong then proceeded to the check-in courter. Jonathan still was quite...

When we were on board Jonathan still was quite. He did not complain even one soft sound. When the plane took off he did scare at all as we guessed before the departure. After for awhile he felt in sleep until we reached Langkawi.

When we arrived Bella Vista Hotel-where we stayed during our stay in Langkawi, Eric rented a car. He left us behind to shop a suit for his court case the next morning. Oooop, Jonathan started cried like anything. He sticked to me full time, complained without ceasing. Eric was back at 2pm. We went out for lunch.

6pm the same day, I took Jonathan for swimming at Hotel's swimming pool for children, at first he scared of water, he cried. I encouraged him and helped him to play with the water. Later on he used to the water. He loved the pool so much. He did not want to get out of the pool. He cried loudly when I took him out.

2nd July Eric went to court whole day. We stayed back. Jonathan once again complained and cried. about 6pm we went out. Eric took us to see the Aquarium. Jonathan loved it so so much. He shouted when he saw colorful fishes. He wanted to show you that there are many nice, beautiful fishes but he yet does not how to say.

Whenever we travel, I enjoy seeing the outside world. Looking at the mountain or the sea with its spices I thank the Lord so much for his creation. Like this trip we visited the Aquarium, there are fishes, they live underneath the sea with such wonderful color that us are human can never be able to create. Other special like Penguin, their environment is place where the weather is cold, snow and ice.

This is Duc from Hanoi. Currently he is studying Computer at KDU College that near my house. Duc is a great great eater. according to him, he sleeps a lot as well. Jonathan loves him. They play with one another like kids.

This is Rachel's house. Rachel is teaching English to the Vietnamese workers here in Penang. She has a marvelous heart for the lost. We were invited to her house for dinner. She cooked spaghetti for us. We did the fresh spring roll. We had a very nice time together.

The other night we had relative from Kuala Lumpur. We had a very nice dinner at Wimming Club where ama and akong use to go for dancing. Jonathan are very happy to see them for the first time. The couple name Jeffy and Ai Meng. Ai Meng is suffering from a cancel. She has three children. 2 boys and 1 girls. Later on you can see on of them carried Jonathan. Ai Meng is very brave and she strong put her faith to the Lord. She believes that God will heals her soon. She has a great heart for His Kingdom. Thời gian trôi nhanh quá. Thoáng đó mà bé Jonathan đã được một năm. Mummy Ánh Lụa dâng lời tạ ơn Chúa nhiều vì Chúa cho em hay ăn chóng lớn. Trong ngày sinh nhật đầu tiên của mình bé mặc áo quần mới đi dự tiệc sinh nhật tại nhà hàng Ý HardRock gần bờ biển Gurney. Khi mọi người hát chúc mừng sinh nhật bé, bé ngạc nhiên lắm. Ông bà nội mua tặng bé một chiếc bánh sinh nhật rất to và đẹp. Nhìn bé cùng mẹ cắt bánh sinh nhật này.

Bé Jonathan ngủ ngoan lắm, không cần phải dỗ bé trước khi bé đi ngủ đâu. Bé luôn có một người bạn nhỏ là anh bạn hổ dễ thương. Anh bạn này luôn đồng hàh cùng bé, kể cả thức đêm canh giấc cho bé.
